SSDs for all
Following the recent drop in SSD prices, all new PCs will now be supplied, as standard, with a solid state drive in place of the conventional hard drive.
For some time now we have been supplying desktop PCs for use on a network with a 128GB SSD in place of the more usual hard drive, but with the fall in prices it is now feasable to offer a 512GB SSD as standard on all new desktop PCs, making them suitable for standalone use.
We are also supplying all new laptops with SSDs, in which application there is not only the massive speed boost associated with an SSD, but increased battery life due to the lower power consumption of an SSD over a traditional hard drive.
Additionally, where a laptop computer is being used, the lack of any moving parts in an SSD will also improve reliability.
