Windows 8
Following an extensive evaluation of Windows 8, and much feedback from customers, we have decided not to offer the new operating system as an option on our PCs or laptops.
For reasons best known to themselves, Microsoft have removed the familiar Start menu from Windows. Pressing the Windows key now brings up a confusing tile screen. Clearly Microsoft are attempting to emulate their Windows Phone interface, but it simply doesn't work on a desktop or laptop PC.
We will therefore be continuing to supply Windows 7 Ultimate Edition with all new PCs and laptops.
We are still evaluating the new 2013 version of Microsoft Office. We are hoping to offer this as standard with our Windows 7 systems shortly, to replace the current 2010 version.
