Windows 7 PCs now available
We are pleased to announce that we are now shipping PC systems and laptops with Microsoft's latest operating system, Windows 7. We can supply both 32-bit and 64-bit variants, and are able to upgrade most older PCs to Windows 7.
If your computer has less than 4GB of RAM, we would recommend using 32-bit. With 4GB or more, you will require the 64-bit version to be able to make use of all the memory.
Please note that some older motherboards will only support a maximum of 2GB RAM, in which case you should use 32-bit Windows 7 even if your processor is 64-bit. This only applies to upgrades, all new motherboards supplied by us will support at least 4GB of RAM.
For a 2GB system, we will supply 32-bit Windows 7 unless you request the 64-bit version. You may wish to do this if you plan to upgrade past 4GB in the future, as there is no way to convert a 32-bit installation to 64-bit without reinstalling.
We will also continue to supply PCs installed with Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 for any customers who are not yet ready to migrate from Windows XP. Support from Microsoft for Windows XP will continue for another 4 years.
